Works on Paper

Paper has served as the support for an extraordinarily diverse body of work since its invention in 2nd century China, from drawing and painting to collage and beyond.

All artworks created on paper using a variety of media will be considered. This includes, but is not limited to drawing using pastel, watercolor, ink, charcoal, painting on paper, printmaking, collage, book arts, and artist’s books.

All artwork must have been created in the last two years. The exhibition is a virtual online exhibition.

Juror’s Bio
Art Werger is a Professor Emeriti from Ohio University where he served in the Printmaking program. At OU he served as Foundations Chair, Chair of Printmaking and was a Presidential Research Scholar He also taught at Wesleyan College in Macon Georgia where he served as Division Chair of the Fine Arts. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. Werger’s work in etching and mezzotint has been internationally exhibited and has received over two hundred awards. He is best known for his color printing techniques (creating a full color image from two etching plates), aerial images and for his prolific narrative mezzotints. He has received the International Printmaking Prize at the Guanlan International Printmaking Biennial in Guanlan, China and the Grand Prize at the International Mezzotint Festival in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Werger has works in the collection of the Ekaterinburg Museum in Russia, The Guanlan International Printmaking Museum in China, The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Boston Public Library, the Brooklyn Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
