| Biography | Dustin Brinkman (He/Him/His) is an artist, educator, and printmaker working in Columbus, Ohio where he spends most of his free time reflecting tenderly on domestic spaces, framework construction, material agency, and collaged identity narratives. Using familial archives, performative reference photos, and the found or repurposed materials of the Midwest and Southern Atlantic territories, my prints examine the interwoven threads that bind the familial moments, stories, and histories of my landscape into a singular non-linear narrative. The repair and recontextualization of these dissected spaces, which now find themselves placed within one another, are what create the hearth of my home. These exploded views of time, space, architecture, kinship, and my own body as it floats or stumbles through each door and window is how I accept or reject the knowledge that is gathered while journeying between these tender and brutal moments. |
