| Biography | Jamie Capps explores the quiet resilience found in labor intensive processes, embracing the belief that materials carry their own histories and narratives. Her current work draws from mythology, folklore, and imagined creatures that serve as metaphors for transformation, protection, and the uncertainties of the human experience. Grounded in a deep respect for traditional craft, she has studied papermaking at Mount Holyoke College, the University of Iowa Center for the Book, and in the historic papermaking village of Echizen, Japan. Jamie is an Adjunct Professor, serves as Social Media Chair for the Mid America Print Council, and maintains a small papermaking and print studio in Minnesota. |
