LEAD PRINTER
Job Summary:
The Rabbit hOle is seeking a versatile and skilled printmaker with great leadership skills and solid production experience across a broad range of print media, including letterpress, silkscreen, relief printing, and Risograph. The qualified candidate should also possess bookmaking experience and familiarity with a variety of binding processes. This is a full-time position with benefits and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
– Oversee and implement all aspects of the Rabbit hOle’s Print Shop, including production and programmatic output.
– Collaborate in product development with directors and designated staff.
– Identify and execute production methods for all projects with designated staff.
– Ensure the quality of all printed assets.
– Establish and maintain best practices and shop safety protocols.
– Collaborate with program coordinators to identify and deliver educational programming that fulfills the Rabbit hOle’s mission to young people and adults.
– Work with designated staff to conduct printmaking and bookmaking workshops with young people and adults.
– Work with the shop manager to manage inventory and place orders.
– Work with and oversee interns as needed.
– Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of professional letterpress production experience.
Professional experience and fluency in silkscreen and Risograph processes.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
BA or BFA required, MFA preferred.
