Lise Drost recently retired from the University of Miami where she was employed since 1993; from 2006-2014 she was department chair. Her MFA is from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, in Printmaking, in 1983. Drost has received twelve research support grants from the University of Miami, twice won the Florida Individual Artist’s Grant, and most recently won a Miami Dade Individual Artist Grant. She has had 32 solo or two person exhibitions and been juried into more than 300 competitions and her work is included in collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Denver Art Museum, the Museum at Texas Tech University, and Brandywine Workshop in Philadelphia. Her work combines many different printmaking media with collage and hand drawn elements, ranging in scale up to 5 x 10 feet, sometimes as unique pieces and other times as editioned prints.
