Joanne Price

Joanne Price holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in printmaking from the University of Minnesota (2002), and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Buffalo State College (1997). Price has over 25 years of print experience including teaching at the University of Kentucky, Augsburg College, University of Minnesota, Penland School of Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk School, Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Morgan Papermaking Conservancy, Hamilton Wood Type & Printing, Partners In Print, and more. She is founder and owner of Starpointe Studio, specializing in original prints, book arts, and letterpress. Price also collaborates with letterpress publishers like Larkspur Press and October Press, doing wood engraved book illustrations for authors, such as Wendell Berry, Barbara Kingsolver, Sena Jeter Naslund, Silas House, Frank X Walker and more. Her work is included in the collections of the Guangdong Museum of Art in China, Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Wisconsin, and many more public and private collections. Price is President Emeritus of the Wood Engravers’ Network (2014–2020) and an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers since 2016.
