The Bradley International Print and Drawing Exhibition is the second-longest-running juried print and drawing competition in the country. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the bi-annual exhibition. Every two years, it features the best contemporary graphic artwork from around the globe. This exhibition will be featured in the Heuser Art Gallery and Hartmann Center Gallery on the Bradley University campus. The show will also extend to the Peoria Riverfront Museum and the Peoria Art Guild in downtown Peoria, IL.
The Juror for the 40th Bradley International will be Sarah Smelser.
Sarah Smelser is a professor in the Wonsook Kim School of Art and Design at Illinois State University in Normal, IL, and co-founder of Manneken Press in Bloomington, IL. For 30 years, she has taught printmaking, drawing, and professional practice courses while exhibiting her work nationally and internationally. Her creative practice explores the relationship between walking, thinking, and making.
Smelser received her BA from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and her MA and MFA from the University of Iowa. She was the 2022-24 Harold Boyd Endowed Professor in the Wonsook Kim School of Art at Illinois State University in Normal, IL.
