Brett Taylor
Brett Taylor is a print-based artist and educator from South Florida, currently based in Western Massachusetts. They earned their BFA from the University of Florida and MFA from The Ohio State University. Their artistic practice explores the intersections of (dis)ability, sexual orientation, and gender identity through employing an autotheortical lens.
Formerly the Membership Engagement Chair, I would like to continue to serve the print community as MAPC President. In this role I hope to promote printmaking and support the membership through providing educational resources, engagement opportunities, and community building events.
Vice President
Dustin Brinkman
Dustin Brinkman (he/him/his) is an artist, educator, and printmaker working in Columbus Ohio where he teaches at Ohio State University and spends most of his free time reflecting tenderly on domestic spaces, framework construction, and the narratives of collaged and material identity.
It would be an honor to assume the duties of vice president for MAPC. As vice president I would listen, learn, facilitate, and help to foster a space that serves in the best interest of both the organization and our members.
Cameron York
Cameron York is a printmaker, currently based in the PNW, focused on the expansive nature of copperplate etching. She enjoys talking about printmaking, thinking about printmaking, and dreaming about printmaking. She is an artist, educator, and community organizer.
I am interested in serving on the MAPC board because I know how important conferences and connection are to printmakers. I want to help lift up unheard voices, highlight innovation, and include more artists in our community.
Vice President II: Resident of Indiana
Jenn Johnson
Jenn Johnson is a Visiting Assistant Professor at IU Bloomington. Previously, they were a Faculty Fellow and Area Coordinator of Printmaking at IU Southeast. They have taught printmaking workshops throughout the US, and assisted Master Printmakers at ULAE in Long Island, NY. Johnson’s work focuses on queerness, abstraction, and technologies.
I am expressing my interest in the VP2 position. As an educator, scholar, and printmaker with a passion for community building, I’m eager contribute to and have a more direct involvement with MAPC. I’m excited for the opportunity to assist in the educational and professional developments that the organization offers.

Dana Potter
Dana Potter is an Assistant Professor of Art at Furman University and received her MFA in printmaking from the University of Tennessee. She co-organizes Open Air Media Festival, a large, public arts event at PS1 Iowa City. She maintains an active voice in the national print community by organizing panels, portfolios, and projects.
My ten plus years of experience in arts organizing have taught me that dedicated people make meaningful projects happen. MAPC has connected me to a community of artists who inspire and motivate me. I am dedicated to its continued excellence.
Secretary
Kathryn Combs
Kathryn Combs is a contemporary artist based in Lawrence, KS. Her work focuses on ethical issues in emergent technologies. She holds an MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University and a BFA in Printmaking from Indiana University Southeast. She is currently the Studio Manager of the Lawrence Arts Center.
As an artist who has been based in the Midwest her whole career, I have often benefited from the networking and opportunities provided by membership in MAPC. I hope to contribute back to the organization by serving as Secretary.
Jacob Taylor Gibson
Jacob Taylor Gibson is an internationally exhibited interdisciplinary artist with an MFA in Studio Art from the University of North Texas. Drawing on his background in education, he employs community-driven pedagogy as Manager of Programming at The Cedars Union, a nonprofit in Dallas, TX.
I aim to better serve the printmaking community through equitable advocacy, drawing on the skills I’ve developed as Manager of Programming in the nonprofit sector. As secretary, I hope to reconnect with a community I hold dearly.
Social Media Chair
Jamie Capps
A California native working in Saint Paul, Jamie Capps earned her BA from Mount Holyoke College and her MFA from the University of Iowa Center for the Book. Using hand papermaking in conjunction with alternative printmaking techniques she draws from cultural and folkloric influences, reimagining historical narratives.
As a recent graduate, I am looking to become more involved in print and paper communities. I have been a member of MAPC and have benefited from zoom sessions and conferences and would like the opportunity to give back.
Xavier Checo
As an experienced administrative professional with four years in customer service, I excel at multitasking, meeting deadlines, and coordinating projects. I’m passionate about contemporary modern art, particularly Dominican carnival folklore and LGBTQIA+ themes. I’m known for my discretion, judgment, and strong teamwork skills, making me a valuable contributor to a team.
I’m seeking a role to leverage my skills and experience alongside artistic professionals. As a printmaker, I believe I can connect with colleagues and clients. It would be an honor to discuss my background and contribute to the Mid America Print Council’s success.
Bryant Chitsey
Bryant Chitsey is an Oklahoma City-based artist and graphic designer. His work, influenced by urban-rural contrasts and public transit culture, spans printmaking, book arts, and papermaking. He holds a BFA from Oklahoma State University and has exhibited at venues like the Morgan Paper Conservatory, Artspace at UNTITLED, and the Art Center of Corpus Christi.
I’ve greatly benefited from past MAPC conferences and am eager to contribute to the next one. With my experience as a graphic designer, I’m confident I can effectively support its development as the social media chair.
Membership Chair
Brittany Gorelick
Brittany Gorelick was raised between Brooklyn, NY and Jacksonville, FL.They received their MFA from Kent State University in Print Media and Photography and their BFA from the University of North Florida. Through traditional printmaking, alternative papermaking, and photographic processes, they use abstraction to explore unseen symptoms of mental health.
I had the privilege of working behind the scenes of MAPC 2022 at Kent State while I was a grad student and came to appreciate all the hard work that goes into making a conference work. Beyond just the in person conference however, keeping members engaged throughout the downtime between conferences is equally as important!
Maxime Jean Lefebvre
Maxime, a French-born artist, initially explored the fragmented, media-driven vision of America, focusing on its military culture and historical legacy. Personal relationships with service members deepened this exploration and marked a shift in his practice towards more intimate personal narratives.
As membership chair, the focus will be on fostering collaboration and supporting artists to enhance the organization’s reach and impact. By leveraging connections to New England and RISD, my goal is to expand MAPC’s influence within the printmaking community nationwide.
Teddy Lepley
Teddy is an artist-printmaker and book artist. They hold a BFA from Ball State University and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Teddy teaches at and is the Printmaking Lab Technician at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. They are on the board of Anchor Press, Paper and Print.
I’ve witnessed the excitement, joy, and diversity of printmaking enthusiasts who share their passions at printmaking conferences. I want to be a part of making these spaces and events possible now that I am in a position to do so.

Grant Brownlow
Grant M. Brownlow is a Michigan born and raised artist working in lithography, screenprint and monotypes. Grant creates industrial-inspired compositions exploring the post-industrial midwestern psyche. Grant studied at Albion College, received his MFA from Purdue University and currently serves as a Studio Manager at The Cranbrook Academy of Art.
I’m very interested in this position because it will give me the opportunity to build and strengthen connections in the printmaking community. I plan to leverage my existing network and friendly demeanor to link MAPC Members with the MAPC Board.
Zach Fitchner
Zach Fitchner is an artist and educator based in Charleston, West Virginia, serving as the Associate Professor of Art at West Virginia State University. His creative research explores intersections of printmedia, drawing, photography, and installation, focusing on themes of humanity, spirituality, and the formation of identity.
My name is Zach Fitchner, and I’m writing to voice my interest in contributing to MAPC’s executive board. I have a proven record of success, serving the SGCI board from 2015-2022. Our accomplishments included sweeping policy changes, fairer representation and recruitment in leadership, and reimagining how we serve our members.
Lari Gibbons
Lari Gibbons is a professor at the University of North Texas, where she teaches printmaking and served as a collaborative printer. She served as Editor of the MAPC Journal from 2010–13. She received an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA from Grinnell College.
Since 2023, I have served as a volunteer on MAPC’s’ Exhibition Committee. As an official Board Member, my goals are to contribute to MAPC’s mission to showcase the work of its members through inclusive and professional exhibition opportunities.
Raluca Iancu
Raluca Iancu is currently an Assistant Professor in Art & Visual Culture, Printmaking, at Iowa State University. She earned her MFA in Studio Art, Printmaking, from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her BFA in Printmaking from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I have enjoyed being a regular presenter at MAPC conferences and I would like to give back to this community by serving our discipline. I would like to work with the board to facilitate this great experience for others.
Acadia Kandora
Acadia Kandora is a printmaker, educator, and zinester from Appalachia. She holds a MFA from the University of Arkansas and a BFA from Shepherd University. She has exhibited nationally and her publications are included in the Library of Congress, and Center for Book Arts. She is an Assistant Professor in Arkansas.
MAPC has played a large role in my professional life (between a grad travel grant, panels, and networking). I would love to get more involved with the organization, give back, learn, and meet more members of our community.
Jake Lahah
Jake Lahah is a print and sculpture based artist in Richmond, VA, received his MFA from Tyler School of Art + Architecture, and currently an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Old Dominion University.
I’m interested in the member at large position to build on my project management skills, meet new community members, and to advocate for expansive programming that addresses print, its expanded field, and its contemporary canon.
Meredith Setser
Meredith Setser is an Associate Professor of Printmaking at the Herron School of Art & Design at IU Indianapolis where she has been employed since 2006. She received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Although she adores all print processes from lithography to monotype, she primarily specializes in etching and textile printing techniques.
As a mid-career printmaker, I am interested in giving back to the community that has enriched my life in so many ways. I have never been involved with MAPC except as a member, so I am eager to learn more about the organization and hope to serve it in any capacity that is needed.

Maddie Butkovich
Maddie Butkovich is a printmaker from Virginia Beach, VA. She received her BSED in Kinesiology and High Distinction in Studio Art from the University of Virginia in 2023, where she was awarded the Aunspaugh Fellowship. She is currently an MFA candidate in printmaking at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.
I am interested in getting to know how a major national print association works from an inside perspective. I am curious about how associations such as MAPC bring together printmakers across the country/internationally in a space outside of academia.
Mary O’Connor
Mary O’Connor (she/her) is a printmaker from Virginia. She was an Aunspaugh Fellow at the University of Virginia (2022-2023), where she earned her B.A. in Studio Art (2022). She is currently a second-year graduate student at Northern Illinois University and is pursuing her M.F.A.
I am looking to be actively involved within the printmaking community and to expand my knowledge of the medium.
